Ashwani KUMAR

Born and raised in India, I have earned my Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Fine Arts. I am a contemporary practicing artist and a passionate educator with a long-standing background in the IB education field. I started my teaching career as a part-time lecturer in the college and then moved to the IB International Schools as a Visual Art teacher, Visual Art Subject Coordinator and Head of Visual Arts department in the IB continuum schools for 19 years.

I am also a Senior Examiner for IBDP Visual Arts, Internal Assessment and Extended Essay at the IBO for the past fifteen years. Besides teaching my artworks are exhibited in various private art galleries and I am a National Scholar from the Indian Culture Ministry.

I am thrilled to join ELCHK as Acting Subject Head for Visual Arts and looking forward to engaging our students’ creativity as, Albert Einstein said, “Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.” Some suggest Einstein’s theory of relativity and general genius did not derive from how much he knew to be true but how much he imagined to be possible. Your child could be the next Albert Einstein–but only as long as they protect their creativity.
